We have already seen the Corona virus death toll rise across Europe as cases continue to be reported from England to France to Italy. While there have been no positive tests for anyone in Ireland at the moment, Covid 19 is impacting in other ways- from curtailed school and workplace schedules, to the possibility that a number of major sporting events could be postponed as a result.

That includes the forthcoming Six Nations fixtures: both men and women’s senior games, as well as the under 20s in two week’s time.

IRFU chief executive Phillip Browne confirmed the games were being postponed in a statement.
