The Government has formally proposed that no further action be taken on the prospective removal of Seamus Woulfe from the Supreme Court.

The decision was taken at Cabinet on Tuesday morning.

This effectively rules out an impeachment motion being moved by the Government.

Opposition TDs have been reacting to the news in the Dail on Tuesday afternoon.

Alan Kelly is the leader of the Labour Party.  He joined Kieran on Tuesday's edition of The Hard Shoulder to say why he believes the Minister for Justice should answer questions in the Dáil.

Conor O’Mahony, Senior Lecturer in Constitutional Law and Child Law at University College Cork also joined in the discussion.
