The Oireachtas Housing committee today heard that local authorities are best placed to assess the demand for affordable housing.

And it comes as Sinn Fein says the plan should not get the go ahead. 

But what do the developers think? Well for more on this, Kieran Cuddihy was joined by James Benson, Director of Housing, Planning & Development at the Construction Industry Federation.
