Assisted dying has been a contentious topic in Ireland for some time now, as has the rhetoric around it.

Meanwhile, in New Zealand, assisted dying has been legal since the 7th of November 2021.

However, the decision there was also met with contention. Tōtara Hospice in New Zealand is the only hospice that facilitates the right to die on site.
