Before smartphones dominated Ireland's streets, payphone boxes stood as nostalgic relics, sparking conversations in an era where landlines were scarce. In the late 80s and 90s, accessing payphones required purchasing a call card, akin to a disposable credit card, each with a unique design, and thus, a new collectors’ item was born.
