A panel of specialists have issued a letter to media organisations regarding ageist language in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic. They say terms such as ‘elderly’, ‘seniors’, ‘pensioners’ ‘elders’, ‘OAPs’ are stereotypical, ageist and disrespectful and reinforce prejudicial attitudes and stereotypes. What do you think?
