You have heard of ‘corkage’ but what about cakeage? Well If you want to bring a birthday cake along to an evening meal in a restaurant, you could be hit with cakeage fees of up to €50. That’s according to a report from yesterday’s Sunday Times, who found that a quarter of restaurants they surveyed were charging up to €5 per head for parties bringing cakes along with them.
