School principals have been warned not to jump the gun and start deciding which child is a close contact of a Covid case.  

Asymptomatic children won’t be removed from schools just because one of their classmates tests positive for Covid.  

School will have to wait several days, possible as long as a week fro the HSE to assess the situation and decide who exactly is deemed a ‘close contact’
