The HSE wants to retain most of the capacity it currently has in private hospitals under the agreement reached between Government and the independent sector during the Covid-19 pandemic.Government has to decide this week if iwants to extend the initial three-month arrangement until the end of July. The deal has been criticised due to the cost and because significant numbers of private hospital beds remained unused. Should the arrangement be extended? Ciara chats to Dr Brian Turner, Lecturer in Health Economics in Cork University Business school at University College Cork and hears from listeners
