The government is launching an ambitious decentralisation plan today

It will see people being offered financial incentives such as tax breaks and relocation grants to encourage them to move out of cities and into rural Ireland.

The 'Our Rural Future' plan also commits to fund the re-purpose of vacant buildings in rural towns to turn them into shared office spaces and it will give priority to areas outside Dublin for the location of new headquarters or buildings for Government departments and other State bodies.

Rural Affairs Minister Heather Humphreys says the plan is about offering a choice for people about where they live and work
