According to new research by Lloyds bank and the Office for National Statistics the “Singles Tax” is a myth.

It’s more expensive to be in a relationship costing an extra 4000 euro a year. 

Henry McKean has been finding out is it cheaper to be single or in a relationship and he joins us now.

Is it a surprise to find out it works out more expensive to be in a relationship?  This survey asked 4,000 people. Some people say embrace it. 60% of single people have chosen to be single. Being independent and not dealing with relationship troubles were the key reasons why people choose to be single.
