Small businesses are the backbone of the economy, but with the rise of big brands and retailers, it might be hard for local shops to stay on their feet. That’s why events like Small Business Saturday can boost sales and encourage people to shop local.

And now in the weeks leading up to Christmas, I’ll talk to four local retailers about the importance of small businesses in a community and how shopping local can make all the difference.
