All this week and next week at Newstalk, we’re running a special series called ‘The Show Must Go On’ which is geared towards supporting the arts and live events sector.

Earlier in the year a report by the ‘Live Venue Collective” said that the country was at risk of losing some of its most beloved and iconic live entertainment venues and also highlighted a risk of a brain drain of artists, technicians, and engineers from the sector.

Bobby wanted to hear from the nation's live entertainment venues to see how they have been getting on.

Joining Bobby was:

  • Stephen Faloon - General Manager of the Bord Gais Energy Theatre
  • Ailbhe Eskay - Director of Operations of The Hot Spot Music Club in Greystones
  • Kieron Black - Entertainment Director at The Grand Social in Dublin
  • Edel Curtain - The Vice Chair of ‘The Live Venue Collective’ and owner Couglins in Cork City
