Our oceans have sustained us for centuries. Yet the seas that surround us are under mounting pressure from warming waters and over-exploitation.
That is one of the arguments of Mark Mellett who is a retired Irish Naval Service vice admiral, and former Chief of Staff at the Irish Defence Forces. Mark has written as ew book entitled “Blue Heart : War, Climate and the Battle for the Ocean that Keeps us Alive”.
