With Chris away, it was Shane Coleman joining Ivan in studio to take a look at the morning papers.

Ivan started by discussing claims that the time of the day when most online purchases are made is after 'wine o'clock'.

"They get sozzled, and then they start buying," Ivan observed.

On the front page of the Irish Times, there's a picture of the Irish women's cross-country team winning bronze at the European Cross Country championships. The paper also runs a story that college graduates could soon be repaying €25 loans a week in a 15 year loan scheme - something we're unlikely to be seeing promised ahead of an election.

The flooding continues across the country, with seven pages devoted to the subject in the Irish Independent - including reports that businesses in Athlone have been counting the cost after inaccurate reports that they were closed for business amid flooding in the area.

Conor McGregor's victory over Jose Aldo is prominent across the tabloids and broadsheets alike - with the Irish Daily Star running the headline 'My Left Cut'.

Meanwhile Shane highlighted a study that apparently shows that being handsome can potentially hold a man back in the workplace.

"So basically John Bruton was intimidated by your good looks," Shane informed Ivan.

Finally on Page 2 of the Daily Mail, it is reported that soldiers are under fire because of the availability of cheap alcohol in their messes - such as a pint for as little as €2.60 - thanks to a healthy subvention from the taxpayer.
