Minister Charlie Flanagan (FG) will keep his seat in the Dáil in next month's General Election.
That is Newstalk's prediction for the three-seat constituency of Laois, which was recently created when the Laois/Offaly constituency split.
Foreign Affairs Minister Flanagan is expected to top the poll in the midlands county, where six candidates have so far been confirmed.
Sitting TDs: Charlie Flanagan (FG), Sean Fleming (FF), Brian Stanley (SF)
Newstalk's Breakfast presenter Ivan Yates will be calling the outcome for each of the 40 constituencies in the weeks leading up to polling day.
Yates' prediction for Laois is that Fianna Fáil's Sean Fleming will take the second seat and Sinn Féin's Brian Stanley will take the third seat.
Veteran politician Yates says Labour will be squeezed out in this constituency, though Senator John Whelan (LAB) would take a fourth seat, if one were on offer.
The two remaining candidates - Green Sinead Moore and Fine Gael's Thomasina Connell - will be unsuccessful in this "predictable" constituency, according to Yates.
