Labour could fail to win any seats in Dublin South-Central - according to Newstalk Breakfast presenter Ivan Yates.
Sitting TDs: Michael Conaghan (LAB), Eric Byrne (LAB), Joan Collins (IND), Catherine Byrne (FG), Aengus Ó Snodaigh (SF)
The Breakfast show pundit is predicting that sitting TD Eric Byrne will lose his seat next month, in a dog fight with his Dáil colleague Catherine Byrne of Fine Gael.
She will be the only TD that represents the current government parties.
The forecast comes as part of Newstalk Breakfast presenter Ivan Yates' series of election predictions. In the weeks leading up to polling day, he is calling the outcome for each of the 40 constituencies.
Dublin South-Central
Dublin South-Central is a four seat constituency, down from a five seater.
Four of the sitting TDs are running for election, in Eric Byrne (LAB), Joan Collins (IND), Catherine Byrne (FG) and Aengus Ó Snodaigh (SF).
Labour's Michael Conaghan will not be running for election again.
A total of 11 candidates have declared in this left-leaning constituency, with its underprivileged inner city neighbourhoods.
Predicted outcome
Dublin South-Central is tough ground for Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil, and Sinn Féin are likely to top the poll.
Yates is calling the result as one Sinn Féin, one Independent, one Fine Gael and one People Before Profit candidate.
Sinn Féin are running two candidates, but are probably only targeting a seat for Aengus Ó Snodaigh - he will take a seat and could top the poll.
Independent Joan Collins will take a seat and could also top the poll.
Fine Gael stalwart Catherine Byrne TD has a reasonable chance of holding on to her seat.
However, this could be a disastrous constituency for Labour. Michael Conaghan's retirement means they are relying on Eric Byrne for a seat. Ivan Yates is predicting that People Before Profit candidate Brid Smyth will take Byrne's seat.
