Yesterday was the date set for evacuation for the Longboat Quay residents, if remedial work had not begun on the complex.
Fire safety orders issued to the residents set yesterday as the deadline.
The notice was the first step in having the 298 apartments evacuated.
The cost of repairs to bring the complex up to required safety standards is estimated at €4m - with €2m still to be financed by management and the apartment owners.
The management company representing the residents are appealing the order in court this coming Tuesday and later in the month.
Seamus Pullen is a resident in Longboat Quay.
He told Newstalk Breakfast this is not a new risk for them - but that they really have no other option.
