Ticketmaster is offering full refunds to those who bought tickets for this weekend's Killarney Festival of Music and Food.

In a statement issued this afternoon, the company says if tickets were purchased online or over the phone, a full refund will be issued to the credit or debit card used to make the booking, within the next five to seven working days.

People who bought tickets at an outlet should bring them back there for a full refund.

The Killarney Festival of Music was cancelled last night, leaving up to 36,000 festival goers and the entire town at a loss over the late cancellation.

The festival was set to have Duran Duran, Texas, Jools Holland and The Stunning on the line-up, but there were suspicions that it wouldn’t go ahead when organisers moved the event from the Killarney House to the local racecourse, which could accommodate a much smaller crowd.

In a statement yesterday evening organisers of the festival said they did 'everything in their power' to make it happen this weekend.

Fine Gael Councillor for Killarney Bobby, O’Connell spoke to Ivan and Chris on Breakfast this morning, and said the “Killarney chamber of commerce and Kerry county council had facilitated promoters in every way possible, bent over backwards really, to make sure the event went ahead.”
