A woman who was hit by a car in Dublin this morning has been transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

The female pedestrian in her 20s was struck by a car at Annesley Bridge Road at around quarter to seven.

She was rushed to the Mater Hospital but later transferred to Beaumont, where her condition is understood to be serious.

Gardai in Clontarf are appealing for witnesses.
