A 54 year old woman has died in a road crash in Co. Mayo.

She was killed when the motorbike she was driving crashed on the Crossmolina to Belmullet Road at around midday.

The road is currently closed, while Gardaí carry out a technical examination of the scene. Diversions are in place.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Ballina Garda Station.
