A female pedestrian in her 80s has been killed in a collision in Ranelagh, south Dublin this morning.

The incident between a truck and the woman happened at the junction of Ranelagh Road and Chelmsford Avenue.

She died at the scene and her body has been taken to St Vincent's Hospital for a post mortem.

Traffic restrictions are in place and Chelmsford Close is closed.
