A woman in her early 20s has been killed in a collision in Co Meath.

It happened near Batterstown at around 4 o'clock this afternoon, when the car she was driving was in collision with a truck.

She was the sole occupant of the car.

The truck driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Navan hospital.

The woman's body has been removed to the morgue at Navan.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda forensic collision examination.
