A woman has been charged in connection with an armed robbery in Dublin city centre yesterday evening.

Gardaí said a woman, armed with a scissors, threatened staff at a shop in the Thomas Street area at around 7:15pm.

She fled the scene with the contents of the till.

Shortly after, a woman in her 30s was arrested by Gardaí on patrol in the area.

She was taken to Kilmainham Garda Station for questioning.

She has since been charged as is due to appear in court this morning.
