Police in the North are treating the death of a 91 year old man in a house fire in Co. Down as a suspected arson attack.
Samuel Carson died in Carryduff on Tuesday and police say they've received new information about the fire which leads them to believe it was started deliberately.
A 57 year old woman has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. She was detained at a police station in North Down yesterday and remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
The blaze broke out at a domestic garage and oil tank at Thorndale in Carryduff just before 1 o'clock on Tuesday morning. A second oil tank went up in flames, spreading to a nearby bungalow.
Emergency services responded to the call and a 91 year old man was found injured at the scene. He was pronounced dead.
It took a number of hours to extinguish the fire with over 40 firefighters called to the scene.
