A woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of murder over the deaths of three children at a house in Dublin last week.

Siblings Conor (aged 9), Darragh (7) and Carla (3) McGinley were found dead at a house at Parsons Court in Newcastle on Friday night

A woman in her 40s was found at the scene and taken to Tallaght University Hospital where she has been receiving medical attention.

She has since been arrested and is now detained at Clondalkin Garda Station.

The children’s father this afternoon said there is “only devastation, grief and anguish” following their deaths.

Andrew McGinley said in a statement: “Every breath is a struggle.”

“Conor, Darragh and Carla are adored. They all had beautiful, bright futures ahead of them with family, friends and a community who love them.”

Tusla has activated its critical response procedure in response to the deaths and will be offering support through schools, counselling services, family support services and local groups in the Newcastle area.

Anyone who needs someone to talk to can also contact the Samaritans on 116 123.
