BMW look ready for some hard work at the 85th Geneva Motor Show in March. They will host two world premieres at their stand with the new 2 Series Gran Tourer and the new compact BMW 1 Series. Apart from that they will also show off the new BMW M4 MotoGP Safety Car.
Worldwide the manufacturer has managed to sell a whopping two million units of their 1 Series. The new 1 Series has been modified to the front and rear and offers the latest generation petrol and diesel engines. Through this car they will show how their new engines have become more efficient in terms of fuel economy and CO2 emissions - most notably the 116d Efficient Dynamics Edition which gives on-paper fuel consumption of 3.4 litres per 100km and burns just 89g/km of CO2.
The new 2 Series Gran Tourer will be a favourite for those of us with growing families as it can accommodate up to seven people in three rows of seats. This vehicle will be the perfect vessel to show off their new in-car entertainment concept for children - "myKIDIO". Sadly "myKIDIO" will initially only be available to the German market, but hopefully it'll come our direction soon enough. What this system will supply to children is a clever mix of TV, movies, audio books and games to keep them entertained on long journeys.
BMW will also exhibit their new M4 MotoGP safety car. What they will champion here is their water injection system which is said to give a "noticeable boost in performance". This technology is also said to enable excellent fuel economy and reduce exhaust emissions.
