A 24-hour wait overnight has not put off a group of hardy souls queuing on Grafton St in Dublin for the latest version of a pair of Kanye West-designed shoes.
Only 30 pairs of the US rapper-designer's Yeezy Boost 360 shoes are available to the Irish public at BT2 on Saturday August 22nd at 9am. They are being sold on a first come basis, one per customer according to Brown Thomas Menswear buying manager Steve Burnett.
This was not the first time Yeezy Boosts has had such an effect - queues lined overnight in June in the run-up to a previous release of the coveted sneakers.
There has been massive hype around the Kanye West creation and the "moccasin style construction" of the shoes is said to "transcends current trainer trends", according to Adidas who collaborated witht he rapper on the range.
And if you can't make it there on time, don't worry. Mr West aka Yeezus has offered these wise words of advice: "I just wanna make sure we keep it safe. I've heard about people getting hurt over sneaker culture… Just be patient, we'll make more Yeezys. Eventually everyone who wants Yeezys will get them. I talked to the heads of Adidas."
Ah, Yeezus.
