An 11-year-old strawberry seller has received huge local support after he was the victim of a roadside robbery in Wexford.
Conor Goucher had €250 stolen from his cash box – but he hasn’t let the setback put him out of business.
On Newstalk Breakfast this morning, he said he was left shaken after the robbery.
“The daughter got out of the car and started asking me all the prices and then the mother then hopped out of the Jeep and went in and got all the money then from the box,” he said.
“I was just kind of left shaken. I didn’t know what to do. I just rang my mam and then a person walking by, she rang the Gardaí and they came out then.”
He said local businesses have rallied behind him in the days since.
“A few of the hotels and all the cafés, they came out and bought strawberries from me and started doing strawberries and ice cream just to help me kind of,” he said.

He said he is planning to become a businessman when he gets older.
“Well, I kind of learned that when you get older, you kind of know then what you are going to be doing,” he said.
“If you’re going to be doing the same thing, you have a bit of experience – you would know what to do.”
