Fog in many areas this morning will clear gradually and some bright or sunny spells will develop today, mainly in parts of Connacht and north Leinster, but fog and low cloud may affect parts of the east and southeast coast during the day.
A band of showery rain in the southwest will extend gradually northwards across Munster and many parts of Leinster, with a risk of heavy, thundery bursts, possibly affecting parts of south Connacht later.
Ulster will be mostly cloudy, with patchy rain and drizzle.
Maximum temperatures 9 or 10 degrees in Ulster, 12 to 14 Celsius elsewhere, in light easterly or variable breezes.

Tonight will become dry in most areas, but a few patches of rain will occur.
Misty in many areas, with fog patches. Minimum temperatures 1 to 4 Celsius.

There is a status orange fog warning in place for Connacht, Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.
There was widespread fog overnight and this morning, dense in many areas.
