Social media has given everyone a chance to share their opinion on every topic that they could want, but it's not always that pleasant.
Owen Jones, a journalist at The Guardian, has had his fair share of trolls in his time online since joining Twitter several years ago, and while he knows not to take things said to him in that medium to heart, he did decide to meet one of his trolls to see if they would say the same things to his face.
He met up with Twitter user @pasaparakis (also known as George) to talk about the insults that the threw at him over the years, and whether or not he actually meant them.
The answers George gave provide an insight into why trolls often put forward extreme opinions, as he stated that "you need to start with something like that to get noticed".
