With only a few weeks left in 2015, round-ups of the year that was are likely to be appearing in your timelines to scrutinise and rank everything that happened this year into small bite-sized chunks. And first to arrive is US mash-up maestro DJ Earworm’s annual ‘United State of Pop’.
The five-minute mega mix of 50 of this year’s biggest hits is an editing wonder, seamlessly meshing together the most heard songs of the year, including Adele’s ubiquitous Hello, Rihanna’s Bitch Better Have my Money and Bad Blood by Taylor Swift. The compilation also highlights the best and brightest moments from this year’s music videos as well.
2015’s version, '50 Shades of Pop', uses the Weeknds’ anthemic Can’t Feel my Face in its first half, while the second half drops in huge hits from Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and One Direction.
