The woman had been travelling on the back of a moped with a man when they collided with a white car on a street in China's eastern Zhejiang Province.
She was knocked off the vehicle before being driven over by the car's front wheel.
The car's driver was then able to stop his vehicle, but the woman was still stuck underneath the car.
Her driving companion came to her aid and looked under the car before trying to lift it himself.
The footage shows how approximately 20 passers-by joined him in an effort to release the woman.
The crowd included a man who appears to be dressed in police uniform along with passengers in a passing car who stopped when they saw what had happened.
The crowd was eventually able to elevate the car and pull the woman out to safety.
Sky News is reporting that she suffered only minor scratches in the incident, which happened on Thursday last.
