The parents of a severely disabled 13-year-old girl say they would have liked an apology from the HSE after settling a medical negligence claim for €5.2 million euro.
"No amount of money can make up for what they done to us ... an apology would have been nice," said Marie Reilly.
Sarah Reilly from Shercock in Co Cavan has been severely disabled since her birth at Cavan General Hospital in 2001 - allegedly because her mother was given the drug Syntometrine prior to a caesarean section.
Her lawyers told the High Court that the sole purpose of the drug is to contract the uterus after birth.
The teenager has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, scoliosis, seizures and requires 24 hour care.
The HSE has not admitted liability.
