Newstalk is the fastest growing independent talk radio station in Ireland, with a weekly reach of 672,000 people across 26 counties. Newstalk continues to grow its audience each year and is known across the nation as the independent voice of Ireland, boasting a strong line-up of Ireland’s leading broadcasters including Pat Kenny, Ivan Yates, Chris Donoghue, George Hook and Moncrieff.

We are currently seeking to expand our activities beyond radio, to become the country’s leading cross-platform brand. To do this, we will be recruiting a number of digital professionals to increase, improve and drive our online output.

About the role
Under the direction of the Head of Digital and the station editorial team, the digital visual designer will own all visual aspects of Newstalk.com content – from infographics to image galleries, and from picture selection right down to picture cropping.

It will be the role of the digital visual designer to work alongside the rest of the digital team – in particular our video manager – to ensure all of our content is given the best available visual treatment across our digital platforms.

Role requirements
• Work as part of the digital team to ensuring the highest levels of quality on all visual content
• Conceive and create rich visual content for the website, including composite images and infographics
• Work with video manager to produce high-quality graphics for video content
• Manage picture services from external providers
• Work with newsdesk to source images from social channels across the web, and ensure all appropriate usage permissions
• Ensure high technical quality of images
• Work with technical teams to develop an efficient workflow for image uploading
• Work on designs for other digital channels, eg social channel skins, newsletters, website mockups, etc
• Provide imagery Newstalk iPad Magazine and website in conjunction with existing resources
