Newstalk is the fastest growing independent talk radio station in Ireland, with a weekly reach of 672,000 people across 26 counties. Newstalk continues to grow its audience each year and is known across the nation as the independent voice of Ireland, boasting a strong line-up of Ireland’s leading broadcasters including Pat Kenny, Ivan Yates, Chris Donoghue, George Hook and Sean Moncrieff.

We are currently seeking to expand our activities beyond radio, to become the country’s leading cross-platform brand. To do this, we will be recruiting a number of digital professionals to increase, improve and drive our online output.

About the role
Under the direction of the Head of Digital and the station editorial team, the online business journalist will focus on

The video editor will have a proven ability to film video; including proper framing, audio set up, lighting set up and so on.

The successful candidate will also be an enthusiastic, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple deadline-sensitive projects. This role requires an ability to seek out visual opportunities from existing Newstalk stories – as well as stories independent of the on-air output – in order to enhance the visual output of the brand.

Role requirements
• Extensive working knowledge of digital video cameras, equipment and software
• Fluency in motion graphics, sound and video editing software.
• Proven verbal/written communication skills
• Basic level of Project Management Skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and turn productions around quickly yet maintain a high level of quality
• Familiarity with social media and understanding of trends
• Ability to learn quickly and apply new skills on the job
• Understanding of shooting, editing, and publishing video for the web
• A passion for video and technology in general
• Proficiency in HTML, Photoshop, Flash and other web tools and applications
