It's no secret that practising something every day will yield results, but it can be hard to visualise.
At the beginning of 2014, Sam Priestley was a novice table tennis player. But each day he practised his rallies, reflexes, footwork and technique, all documented by his friends.
This montage shows his rapid development in technique and overall ability, which improve noticeably as each month passes.
Sam's 'Expert in a year' project aimed to earn him a place in the English top 250. Unfortunately he fell short of the mark, but performed well at tournaments, reaching the semi-final of a ranked competition in August.
Of course the lesson to be learnt here isn't specific to table tennis. Try setting yourself your own 'Expert in a year' challenge and see where it gets you.
