A video has surfaced of a teenage boy emerging from the wheel carriage of a Hawaiian Airlines plane.

The boy received widespread attention after surviving the flight from San Jose, California to Maui, Hawaii - a journey of almost 3,800km. The video shows him staggering onto the runway after appearing from underneath the body of the plane.

Reuters reports that since the incident, the boy has been moved back to San Jose, where he is in the custody of social services. Though previously claiming they would not pursue criminal charges, they have more recently said that they will be investigating it as an act of trespassing "at minimum".

The boy's Somali father has spoken to the media, saying that his son wanted to return to Africa, where his mother still lives in an Ethiopian refugee camp.
