Property is all location, location, location, so we're told. But panoramic cliff-side views don't come without a cost.
A luxury home in Texas has lost a chunk of its value (and its garden) after a cliff collapse.
WFAA reports that on Tuesday night neighbours heard the cliff give way and watched as the house slumped towards the void. A warning sign has been placed in front of the property, and the local sherrif says that the ground continues to shift.
The 370 square-metre house was built atop a cliff by Lake Whitney in 2007. Its owners moved out two weeks ago after receiving advise that the disaster was imminent.
Incidentally, the house, the Overlook Court, shares a name with the hotel from 'The Shining.' So perhaps it's for the best that no one lives there anymore.
