A Scottish cyclist wearing a camera on his helmet has captured footage of the most inconsiderate driver in Aberdeen. Not only is the motorist driving his Land Rover 4x4 while holding his smartphone, but he also appears to have headphones in both ears and has his laptop open beside him.
"Not only he's not paying any attention to the road, I suspect he's not even on this planet," the uploader Aberdeen Cycle Cam says in the YouTube video. The cyclist’s channel is dedicated to shaming motorists who endanger the lives of cyclists through careless driving.
"Don't want to be a star in my videos? Don't endanger others. Drive properly, don't be impatient and don't be rude. Simple!" he says in his channel description.
In this video, when the offending driver sees that he had been caught breaking motor-safety laws on camera, he quickly puts away his phone and drives on.
Due to the increasingly-affordable price of small digital cameras, the number of cyclists in the UK and Ireland wearing the helmet-mounted devices has increased in recent years. The UK courts have submitted the footage from the cameras as evidence in a number of driving-offence convictions.
