Animals have proven remarkably adaptive modern technology, whether it be cats with iPads or dogs driving cars. It's not just the quadrupeds though - birds are getting in on the act too.
Students from the University of Victoria, Canada decided to investigate after noticing a number of swallows nesting in the building.

Had they wandered in and become trapped? The answer is much more surprising - the birds have worked out that they can activate the motion sensor on the automatic doors, allowing them to fry outside freely, while still having the comfort of a sheltered nesting place.
