A ruptured oil pipe in Los Angeles has spilled about 50,000 gallons of crude oil onto streets.
An area of around half-a-mile was covered and the oil is knee-high in some areas.
The spill has shut down an area of Atwater Village, in the north of the city, reports say.
Some commercial businesses are affected, including a strip club that was evacuated.
Oil could be seen shooting into the sky after the pipe burst. Video from the scene shows oil running down the street.
According to the Fire Department, the leak from a 20-inch pipe was reported at around 12:15am local time. The oil line was remotely shut off.
No injuries were reported.
