Research software company Qualtrics have announced 100 new jobs and the official opening of their new European HQ in Dublin.

Qualtrics opened its European headquarters in Dublin's docklands in 2013 and today's announcement will see 250 people employed at the Dublin base by the end of 2016. The new roles will be initially based around sales, support and technical services.

CEO and co-founder Ryan Smith said the company have not set up in Ireland to take advantage of the low corporation tax rate, but due to the available workforce.

"Our experience of doing business in Europe from our Irish base has been phenomenal.

"We can be successful here ... that's what's driving Ireland. I think you guys think about (the tax rate) more than the rest of the world thinks about that, because if we could not hire 100 or 250 people I would not be here," he added.

Founded in Utah in 2002, Qualtircs enables companies measure customer satisfaction. They currently work with brands such as Kellogs, HP, Cisco and Stanford University. Their service helps companies  "to make the right business decisions based on voice of the customer data," according to Mr Smith.

A statement from Qualtrics say there are "actively recruiting for its sales, support  and technical teams as well as graduates from the science, business and mathematics disciplines."

“Anyone looking to work with an innovative fast growing company on data insights will love working at Qualtrics,” said Dermot Costello, Managing Director, Qualtrics Ireland.
