Patrick. He gave us some great comic moments back in his 2008 Prime Time interview.

We got even bigger laughs from the bould Patrick in his evidence in the Anglo trial. He forgot everything and couldn’t even remember if he rathered tea or coffee.

Bless him.

Anyway, here he is today in front of the banking inquiry. Unlike other witnesses who appeared at earlier hearings, Patrick isn’t going down the 'sack cloth and broken man' look.

Oh no.

Tailored suit. Check.

Smart haircut. Check.

Air of confidence. You betcha.

The man has a lovely, chatty manner. He’s like your uncle from the country who opens every conversation with, 'Let me tell ya...'

He’s a true raconteur and a bit of a geography expert as he seems obsessed by Basel. Why? Maybe you need to ask a financial hack-a-bout that one but I’m guessing he loves Swiss chocolate.

When it comes to his actual job, well, god knows. Of course he played the hindsight card but then again ‘who would have thought banks do naughty things?’

Maybe if he stopped eating chocolate and did some regulation...

If you do get the chance to watch this comedy gold, you really should. The really sad thing is it is, it's not comedy, it’s reality.
