There were more problems for Ulster Bank customers today.

The bank says the issue, which delayed payments into some customer accounts overnight, has been resolved.

"Some inward credit transfer files were delayed through our payment system overnight and we are working to resolve this issue for customers as soon as possible" it said in a statement.

A spokesperson said the payments which were delayed last night were now in the accounts and said it was not an IT issue, but a delay in a payment file.

It is the latest in a series of technical problems for Ulster Bank. Earlier this month, thousands of customers were left unable to use their credit or debit cards because of a glitch.

Whilst it is just over a year since customers were locked out of their online accounts for a month because of a series of technical issues.
