An Independent TD has provoked an angry reaction from the Taoiseach after claiming the Government "pimped out" the country like prostitutes for the Obama family.

Clare Daly says there was "unprecedented slobbering" of Michelle Obama, who had lunch with "Mr tax exile, himself, Bono". 

Taoiseach Enda Kenny reacted angrily saying the comments were "a disgrace" and that they "do-down the pride of Irish people all over the world".

The United Left Alliance TD went on to describe President Obama as a war criminal - while he was talking peace to children in Northern Ireland.

Then she asked if President Obama was "going for the hypocrite of the century award".
