The rebounding Irish property market has attracted one of the UK’s largest retail and leisure property exhibitions to come to Dublin for the first time.
Completely Retail & Leisure Marketplace Ireland will take place on Tuesday February 24th at the CHQ building on George’s Dock - it will bring together leading Irish and UK retailers to discuss opportunities in the market.
Over 300 retailers are due to attend - and one in three are expected to come from UK firms.
The weakening of the euro and improvements in the British economy mean that it is likely that British buyers will be drawn into the Irish market in 2015.
Larry Brennan is head of commercial with Savills, he thinks that it is a timely event:
“Ireland’s economic recovery is having a positive knock-on effect on the retail sector. Strong employment growth is positively influencing consumer sentiment and retail sales are continuing on an upward trajectory. Consequently, retailers are engaging with the property market and there is now strong demand for space on prime high streets and shopping centres – both in Dublin and in the main regional cities. It is a very exciting time for Ireland’s retail sector."
Representatives from: H&M, Weatherspoon, Iceland, Boots, Zara, Massimo Dutti, Smyths Toys, Holland & Barrett, Peacocks, Insomnia Coffee, Tesco, Carluccios, Henderson Retail Ltd, Centra / SuperValu and Omniplex Cinemas are among those who will attend the event.
