Long time U2 tour mange Dennis Sheehan died early this morning.
Mr Sheehan was found unconscious in his hotel room in hotel room at approximately 5.30 am, according to Variety.
Paramedics arrived at the scene after receiveing reports of a cardiac arrest. Mr Sheehan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheehan had worked as the band’s tour manager for more than 30 years, first teaming up with the Dublin band in 1982. Originally from the UK he had worked with other world famous artists and groups, including Led Zeppelin and Iggy Pop.
In 2008 he was awarded the Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award, perhaps the highest honour available to those working in the live events industry.
"We've lost a family member, we're still taking it in. He wasn't just a legend in the music business, he was a legend in our band. He is irreplaceable," Bono said on the band’s website today.
The band yesterday began a five night stint of concerts in Los Angeles.
