Two men have died in a road crash in Co. Monaghan.

The two car crash happened on the N2 at Carrickmacross at about 11am this morning.

A man in his 60s and another man in his late 50s were the drivers and sole occupants of both cars.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The road is closed for forensic examination and diversions are in place.
