Two men have appeared in court charged in connection with a €1.5 million drugs bust in west Dublin.
Hungary native Istvan Bogdan and James Slattery of Bawnlea Drive, Jobstown in Dublin were arrested yesterday as part of an intelligence led operation.
Early yesterday morning, officers from the Garda National Drug Unit swooped on a car and a truck at the Northwest Business Park in Blanchardstown.
Two men were arrested at the scene and cannabis, worth €1.5 million, was seized and taken away for analysis.
The seizure was the latest in a string of successful operations that have taken over €17 million worth of drugs off our streets in the past five weeks alone.
Today, Istvan Bogdan (41) and co-accused James Slattery (32) were brought to court charged with drug dealing offences.
Both men were remanded in custody to appear in court again next week.
Meanwhile, four men in their 20s will appear before Kilkenny District Court in connection with a drugs bust in the Kildare/Wicklow area yesterday.
The men were arrested after Gardai carried out searches at six locations and recovered €20,000 worth of cocaine and cannabis.
